George Halitzka, Artistic Director

George Halitzka is the creative force behind Drama by George. You can call him a theatre artist, writer, or educator–but first and foremost, he’s a storyteller.

George believes wholeheartedly in the power of a well-told story to delight, engage, and transform. He’s brought his high-energy performances to over 20,000 children and teens as a storyteller and actor. He’s performed throughout the Louisville area and beyond at schools, community centers, camps, churches, libraries, and just about every place that youth gather.

George has taught drama workshops to thousands of people, from kids who have never been onstage before to seasoned adult actors. George is also an experienced theatrical director. Favorite projects include The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (Bellarmine University, Louisville), Christmas Presence (Drama by George, Louisville), The Ranger Ned Story (Pacific Theatre, Vancouver, BC), Juvie (Palace Youth Theatre, Cleveland), Crucifix (Drama Inc., Chicago), and The Father’s Gift (Parkview Church, Iowa City, IA).

One-act plays written by George are available from Playscripts, Inc. and Contemporary Drama Service; his shorter works have been published by Lillenas Drama and Drama Ministry. George’s scripts have also been honored multiple times in the CITA National Playwriting Contest. His writings about theatre have appeared in publications including Christianity and Theatre, LillenasDrama.com, WorshipLeader.com, and Ministry Today.

Whatever the setting, George Halitzka and his associates deliver high-quality dramatic presentations full of fun, energy, and hope! Contact us to find out more about how Drama by George can serve you.

I have used George Halitzka as a speaker for years in a variety of settings. His message is always clear and powerful. George is an excellent communicator who paints a picture with every story! Your group will never forget his topic or style. I give him at least two thumbs up!
