Royalty Information
Thanks for your interest in acquiring rights to a Drama by George play! Your royalties help George and his wife afford life's little luxuries, like eating.
Please note: The information below applies only to Christmas Presence, Crucifix, The Father's Gift, and Happily Ever After. It does not apply to From Garden to Tomb, which is published by Contemporary Drama Service. Perusal copies of Christmas Presence, Crucifix, The Father's Gift, and Happily Ever After are available free by e-mail when you contact George. (A $5 postage and printing fee applies if you request a paper copy by mail.) A perusal copy is provided for reading and evaluation purposes only. It does not give you the rights to perform the script!
If you decide to perform the script, royalties for non-professional, non-touring live performances in venues with 500 seats or less are $30 for the first performance and $20 for each subsequent performance. Please contact the author for royalties in other circumstances.
You can make as many photocopies of the script as necessary for production purposes, for a price of $1 per copy (on the honor system). This saves you the trouble and expense of ordering preprinted scripts. You may not make any video or audio recordings of any part of the play without the express written permission of the author.
If you’re new to royalty plays, here’s an example of the process might work: You order a perusal copy of The Father's Gift and read it. You like it so much that you decide to present 4 performances! You make 18 copies at $1 each for a total of $18, and pay $90 in royalties ($30 for the first performance; $20 for each of the other 3). That’s a total cost of only $108. What a deal!
